Biography
Third Officer Kathleen Mary Donovan served in the Women's Royal Naval Service at the naval base in Belfast. She worked in the plot room tracking convoy movements across the Atlantic from 1942 to 1945, helping to coordinate the protection of merchant shipping against U-boat attacks. After the war she became one of Belfast's first female civil servants.
