Biography
Jock McAllister from the Gorbals, Glasgow volunteered for the Commandos and trained at Achnacarry Castle in the Highlands. He landed on Sword Beach on D-Day with No. 4 Commando and fought in the brutal Battle of Bréville. He was wounded twice but returned to action and fought through to the crossing of the Rhine. After the war, he ran a newsagent in Partick.
