Biography
James Oduya served with the Royal West African Frontier Force in the Burma campaign, fighting the Japanese in the Arakan and the advance through the Kabaw Valley. The West African troops played a crucial but often overlooked role in the Burma campaign. After the war, James studied engineering in Leeds on a Colonial Development scholarship and decided to stay. He was a founding member of the Leeds African Caribbean community.
