Biography
Captain James Fraser served with the Lovat Scouts, an elite reconnaissance unit of Scottish Highlands gamekeepers. He led patrols in the Italian mountains gathering intelligence, then transferred to France after D-Day. Killed leading a reconnaissance patrol near the Falaise Gap in August 1944. His family in Edinburgh preserved his field notebooks.
