Biography
Ivan Alekseevich Chernyshov served in the Northern Fleet as a submarine officer. He participated in convoy escort duties protecting Allied supply ships on the dangerous Murmansk run. His submarine sank two enemy transport vessels and a patrol boat. He was one of the few Soviet naval officers who worked directly with Royal Navy counterparts during the Arctic convoy operations. He settled in Liverpool in 1978.

Иван Алексеевич Чернышов служил офицером подводной лодки Северного флота. Участвовал в конвойных операциях по защите союзных транспортов на опасном Мурманском маршруте. Его подлодка потопила два вражеских транспорта и патрульный катер. Был одним из немногих советских морских офицеров, работавших с Королевским флотом. Переехал в Ливерпуль в 1978 году.
