Biography
Petty Officer Henry William Barker from Southampton served in the Royal Navy Submarine Service. He was lost with his submarine HMS Upholder in April 1942 in the Mediterranean. HMS Upholder, under the command of Lt Commander Malcolm Wanklyn VC, was one of the most successful British submarines of the war before her loss. All 32 crew perished.
