Biography
Brigadier Harold William Greenwood commanded a brigade in the 8th Army under Montgomery in North Africa. He fought at El Alamein in October 1942 and led his men through the campaigns in Tunisia, Sicily, and mainland Italy. After the war he settled in Leeds where he became chairman of the local Royal British Legion branch and was deeply involved in veterans' welfare until his death.
