Biography
Gwen Thomas joined the Women's Land Army at eighteen, leaving her home in Cardiff to work on farms across South Wales. She drove tractors, milked cows, and harvested crops to keep the nation fed. It was not until 2008 that Land Girls finally received an official veterans' badge, which Gwen wore with pride.
