Biography
Corporal George Campbell served with the 2nd Battalion Scots Guards in the Western Desert campaign against Rommel's Afrika Korps. He was killed at the First Battle of El Alamein in July 1942. He is buried at El Alamein War Cemetery. His family in Glasgow has kept his letters from the desert war.
