Biography
Corporal Gareth Rhys-Williams of Cardiff joined No. 4 Commando in 1942, training for two years in Scotland for the invasion of Europe. On D-Day, 6 June 1944, he landed on Sword Beach with Lord Lovat's commandos, fighting through heavy fire to link up with the 6th Airborne Division at Pegasus Bridge. He was killed in action during the fierce fighting at Bréville-les-Monts on 12 June 1944, six days after D-Day.

Капрал Гарет Рис-Уильямс из Кардиффа вступил в коммандос №4 в 1942 году. В день Д, 6 июня 1944 года, он высадился на пляже Сворд с коммандос лорда Ловата, пробиваясь через огонь к мосту Пегас. Он погиб в бою при Бревиль-ле-Мон 12 июня 1944 года.
