Biography
Frank Taylor was a Commando who participated in the Dieppe Raid of August 1942 — one of the most costly raids of the war. He was one of the few from his unit to make it back to England. He later took part in D-Day landings at Sword Beach on 6 June 1944 and fought through Normandy and into Germany. After the war he returned to Brighton, where he ran a seafront guest house and was known for his stoic refusal to discuss the Dieppe disaster.
