Biography
Corporal Florence Sutton from Edgbaston served in the WAAF as a radar operator at RAF stations across the Midlands. She tracked incoming Luftwaffe bomber formations during raids on Birmingham and Coventry, providing early warning that saved countless lives. During the devastating Birmingham Blitz of November 1940, she remained at her post through hours of bombing. After the war, she trained as a nurse at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and served the Birmingham community for over thirty years.

Капрал Флоренс Саттон из Эджбастона служила в WAAF оператором радара на станциях RAF в Мидлендсе. Она отслеживала формации бомбардировщиков Люфтваффе при налётах на Бирмингем и Ковентри, обеспечивая раннее предупреждение. Во время Бирмингемского блица в ноябре 1940 года оставалась на посту во время многочасовых бомбардировок. После войны стала медсестрой в Больнице королевы Елизаветы.
