Biography
Section Officer Flora Catherine MacKenzie was recruited by the Special Operations Executive from her post as a French teacher in Edinburgh. She was parachuted into occupied France in 1943 where she served as a radio operator for the Prosper network. After the network was betrayed she went into hiding with the Maquis and continued transmitting intelligence until liberation. She returned to Edinburgh after the war and resumed teaching, her extraordinary wartime service remaining largely unknown until the 2000s.

Офицер секции Флора Кэтрин Маккензи была завербована Управлением специальных операций с должности преподавателя французского языка в Эдинбурге. В 1943 году она была заброшена с парашютом в оккупированную Францию, где работала радисткой в сети «Проспер». После предательства сети она укрылась у партизан Маки и продолжала передавать разведданные вплоть до освобождения. После войны вернулась в Эдинбург и продолжила преподавать — о её удивительной военной службе стало широко известно лишь в 2000-х годах.
