Alexei Fedorov was a fighter ace with 22 confirmed aerial victories flying a Yak-9 with the 434th Fighter Regiment. He flew over Stalingrad and Kursk, earning the title Hero of the Soviet Union. After the war he became a test pilot and later moved to Oxford in 1968, where he advised on Cold War aviation history.

Алексей Фёдоров был лётчиком-асом с 22 подтверждёнными воздушными победами, летая на Як-9 в 434-м истребительном полку. Воевал над Сталинградом и Курском, получив звание Героя Советского Союза. После войны стал лётчиком-испытателем, а в 1968 году переехал в Оксфорд, где консультировал по истории авиации Холодной войны.
