Biography

Evelyn Ross from Cambridgeshire was one of the women pilots of the Air Transport Auxiliary, ferrying newly built aircraft from factories to RAF bases across Britain. She flew over 40 different types of aircraft including Spitfires, Hurricanes, and Lancaster bombers. She logged over 600 ferry flights during the war, often in poor weather with no radio navigation aids.
