Biography
Chief Petty Officer Ernest Pickering served on HMS Liverpool and later on escort carriers in the Far East. Born in Toxteth, he was at sea for almost the entire war, from Atlantic convoys to the liberation of Burma. He was among the last sailors to return home in 1946.
