Biography
Warrant Officer Eric Barnes was a rear gunner with the famous 617 Squadron, the Dambusters. He joined the squadron after the dams raid and participated in precision bombing missions using the Tallboy and Grand Slam earthquake bombs against V-weapon sites, U-boat pens, and the Tirpitz. His exposed position in the tail turret was one of the most dangerous in Bomber Command. He completed 45 operations and returned to Birmingham to work in the motor industry.

Уоррент-офицер Эрик Барнс — стрелок хвостовой турели знаменитой 617-й эскадрильи (Разрушители плотин). Участвовал в бомбардировках бомбами Tallboy и Grand Slam. Совершил 45 боевых вылетов. Вернулся в Бирмингем.
