Biography
Elizabeth Henderson served as a military nurse with QAIMNS in North Africa and Italy. She was posted to field hospitals near the front lines at El Alamein, Cassino, and Anzio, where she treated casualties under fire. At the Anzio beachhead in 1944, her field hospital was bombed three times. She was awarded the Royal Red Cross for her outstanding devotion to duty. After the war she trained nurses at the Radcliffe Infirmary in Oxford and was known for her campaigning work on PTSD recognition for veterans.

Она была направлена в полевые госпитали вблизи линии фронта при Эль-Аламейне, Кассино и Анцио, где лечила раненых под обстрелом. На плацдарме Анцио в 1944 году её полевой госпиталь бомбили трижды.
