Biography
Flight Lieutenant Alistair MacGregor flew Spitfires with the City of Glasgow Squadron, one of the most successful Auxiliary Air Force units of the war. He fought in the Battle of Britain and continued flying offensive sweeps over France until 1943. Over his career, he was credited with five confirmed victories and several shared kills. Shot down over France in 1943, he evaded capture with the help of the French Resistance and made his way back to Britain via Spain. After the war he returned to Glasgow and ran the family engineering business.
