Biography
Dorothy Wainwright served as a codebreaker at Bletchley Park from 1942 to 1945, working in Hut 8 on naval Enigma decrypts. A mathematics student at Newnham College Cambridge before the war, she was recruited through a crossword competition. Her work contributed to breaking U-boat communications that helped turn the Battle of the Atlantic.
