Dorothy Kent

Dorothy Kent worked at the Rolls-Royce factory in Nottingham that produced the legendary Merlin engines powering Spitfires, Lancasters, and Mosquitos. Starting as an assembly worker, her exceptional skill and leadership saw her promoted to supervisor of a production line employing 200 women. Under Dorothy's supervision, her line consistently exceeded production targets. She was awarded the British Empire Medal for her contribution to the war effort. After the war she continued at Rolls-Royce, becoming one of the company's first female managers.
