Doris Walsh

Doris Walsh served as a Third Officer in the Women's Royal Naval Service (WRNS) at the Western Approaches Command in Liverpool. She worked in the plotting room at Derby House, tracking the movements of Allied convoys and enemy U-boats across the Atlantic. Her work was critical to coordinating the naval response during the Battle of the Atlantic. Walsh was one of over 2,000 WRNS personnel stationed in Liverpool during the war. After VE Day, she remained in the service until 1946, helping to process the demobilisation of naval personnel. She later became a schoolteacher in Anfield.
