Biography
Sub-Lieutenant David Llewellyn Evans served aboard the battlecruiser HMS Repulse in the Far East. He was killed when the ship was sunk by Japanese aircraft off the coast of Malaya on 10 December 1941, just days after Pearl Harbor. He was one of 508 crew members who lost their lives. Born in Pontypridd, he had been a promising rugby player before the war.
