Biography
David Samoilovich Goldstein served in military intelligence throughout the war. A polyglot who spoke German, French, and English in addition to Russian, he was invaluable in interrogating prisoners and translating captured documents. He served at the Battle of Moscow and later in the Manchuria campaign against Japan in August 1945. After the war he became a professor of linguistics at Leningrad University. He moved to London in 1979.

Давид Самойлович Гольдштейн служил в военной разведке на протяжении всей войны. Полиглот, владевший немецким, французским и английским, он был незаменим при допросе военнопленных и переводе захваченных документов. Участвовал в Битве за Москву и позднее в Маньчжурской операции против Японии. После войны стал профессором лингвистики в ЛГУ. Переехал в Лондон в 1979 году.
