Biography
Captain Cyril Woods served with 2 SAS in Italy and France. In Italy, his team conducted sabotage operations behind German lines, destroying railway bridges and communications. After D-Day, he led a team inserted into the Vosges mountains to organise French Maquis resistance fighters. He was captured and executed by the Gestapo in 1944. His name is commemorated at the Brookwood Memorial. His nephew in Oxford submitted his story.
