Biography
Pilot Officer Clement Dasgupta, born in Birmingham to an Anglo-Indian family, flew Liberator bombers over Burma with 159 Squadron. He completed 28 missions dropping supplies to Chindit forces operating behind Japanese lines. On his 29th mission in March 1944, his aircraft was hit by anti-aircraft fire over the Irrawaddy River. He managed to keep the plane aloft long enough for his crew to bail out before the aircraft crashed. He was 23 years old.

Пилот-офицер Клемент Дасгупта, родившийся в Бирмингеме в англо-индийской семье, летал на бомбардировщиках «Либерейтор» над Бирмой в составе 159-й эскадрильи. Он совершил 28 вылетов, сбрасывая припасы силам Чиндитов за линией фронта японцев. На 29-м вылете в марте 1944 года его самолёт был подбит.
