Biography

Staff Nurse Bridget Malone from the Falls Road in Belfast served with QAIMNS in North Africa and Italy. She worked in casualty clearing stations at El Alamein and during the Anzio landings, treating wounded soldiers under constant shell fire. Her ability to remain calm under pressure and her skill in battlefield triage saved many lives. She was one of the first medical staff into Rome when it was liberated in June 1944. After the war, she returned to Belfast and became a matron at the Royal Victoria Hospital, training the next generation of nurses.

Медсестра Бриджит Мэлоун с Фоллс-роуд в Белфасте служила в QAIMNS в Северной Африке и Италии.
