Biography
Sergeant Benjamin Okafor served with the Royal West African Frontier Force, fighting first in East Africa and then in the Burma campaign against Japan. His unit, drawn from Nigeria, fought through some of the most punishing jungle terrain of the war. After demobilisation, he studied law in London and became a barrister, later advocating for the recognition of African soldiers' contributions to the Allied victory.
