Biography
Petty Officer Angus MacNab from Glasgow served aboard HMS Saumarez, participating in some of the most significant naval actions of the war. He took part in the Battle of the North Cape on 26 December 1943, when the Royal Navy sank the German battlecruiser Scharnhorst off Norway. Only 36 of the Scharnhorst's 1,963 crew survived. MacNab also served on Arctic Convoys to Murmansk and in the Bay of Biscay patrols hunting U-boats.
