Andrey Matveyevich Andreyev, 12 November 1905 in St Petersburg – 17 November 1983 in Moscow. A Soviet commander, made Hero of the Soviet Union on 6 April 1945. He became a colonel general much later, on 26 November 1956; the rank field holds the rank he held during the war rather than his final one.
