Biography
Lieutenant Colonel Alexei Morozov commanded a torpedo boat squadron with the Black Sea Fleet. He participated in the defence of Sevastopol in 1941-42 and the subsequent amphibious operations to liberate the Crimea in 1944. His boats carried out night raids against Axis shipping and evacuated wounded from besieged coastal positions. After a career in the Soviet Navy, he retired to academia, eventually becoming a visiting professor at Oxford's Russian and East European Studies department.

Подполковник Алексей Морозов командовал дивизионом торпедных катеров Черноморского флота. Участвовал в обороне Севастополя в 1941-42 годах и последующих десантных операциях по освобождению Крыма в 1944 году. Его катера совершали ночные рейды против вражеского судоходства и эвакуировали раненых из осаждённых прибрежных позиций.
