Biography
Aleksandr Vasilyevich Zhukov served in the 4th Guards Mortar Regiment, operating the legendary Katyusha rocket launchers during the siege of Leningrad. For nearly 900 days he endured the blockade, firing rocket salvos in defence of the city. After the blockade was lifted, his unit participated in the Baltic offensive. He moved to Nottingham in 1993 to join his daughter.

Александр Васильевич Жуков служил в 4-м гвардейском миномётном полку, управляя легендарными установками «Катюша» во время блокады Ленинграда. Почти 900 дней он выдерживал блокаду, ведя огонь в защиту города. После снятия блокады его часть участвовала в Прибалтийской операции. Переехал в Ноттингем в 1993 году к дочери.
