Biography
Sergeant Albert Round was a toolmaker from Aston who joined the Royal Warwickshire Regiment in 1939. He fought through the North African campaign and landed on Gold Beach on D-Day with the 50th Division. Known for his courage under fire, he was awarded the Military Medal after single-handedly neutralising a machine gun position during the advance through the bocage. He was killed in action near Caen in August 1944 during Operation Bluecoat. He is buried at Bayeux War Cemetery in France.

Сержант Альберт Раунд был инструментальщиком из Астона, вступившим в Уорикширский полк в 1939 году. Он прошёл Североафриканскую кампанию и высадился на пляже Голд в день «Д». Награждён Военной медалью за уничтожение пулемётной позиции в одиночку при продвижении через бокаж. Погиб в бою под Каном в августе 1944 года. Похоронен на военном кладбище Байё во Франции.
