Biography
Lieutenant Alan Stewart served with the Chindits — Orde Wingate's long-range penetration force that operated behind Japanese lines in Burma. His brigade was flown into the jungle by glider in 1944 and spent months fighting in some of the most inhospitable conditions of the war. Many Chindits suffered from malaria, dysentery, and malnutrition. Alan survived but his health was permanently affected. He lived in Edinburgh.

Лейтенант Алан Стюарт служил в «Чиндитах» — силах глубокого проникновения генерала Уингейта в Бирме. Его бригаду забросили в джунгли на планерах в 1944 году. Многие пострадали от малярии и истощения. Жил в Эдинбурге.
