Biography
Sister Agnes McIntyre served with the QAIMNS in field hospitals across North Africa and Italy. She treated casualties from El Alamein, the Tunisia campaign, and the brutal fighting at Anzio and Monte Cassino. Agnes worked 18-hour shifts in appalling conditions, often under shellfire. She was mentioned in dispatches for her devotion to duty. After the war she returned to Edinburgh where she became a senior nursing tutor.
