The Lend-Lease Act, signed by President Roosevelt in March 1941, created one of the most significant supply operations in military history. The numbers are staggering: over 400,000 trucks and jeeps, 12,000 armoured vehicles, 18,000 aircraft, millions of tonnes of food, and vast quantities of raw materials.
Three main routes delivered these supplies: the Arctic Convoys to Murmansk and Archangel, the Persian Corridor through Iran, and the Pacific route through Vladivostok.
The programme remains a powerful symbol of Allied cooperation in the fight against fascism.
